It’s been a hard weeks fishing at Broadlands with it picking up towards the weekend. Peter Drozd fished peg 21 to land a dark 20lb common using urban baits. Phil trenerry fished peg 87 and managed to bank himself 3 carp to 22lb using shoreline baits. Jack fingers fished peg 85 a caught a 17lb mirror, again using shoreline baits. Alan Pugh fished in peg 55 and leaving his rods in whilst he was packing up saved him a blank, it turned out to be a nice scaley mirror at 19lb using shoreline baits. Jack Blake fished in peg 36 and had an 18lb mirror. Pete and rob lodwidge fished in pegs 69 and 70 and had four carp between them. Pete landed a 15lb mirror and rob tempted 3 to 20lb, both using shoreline baits. To end the week Jordan Webb fished the night in the boat bay and banked a 21lb common using pallatrax jungle.
It’s been a very good start to the pike season so far here at broadlands with most anglers landing between 5 and 10 fish on a day session. The best tactics have been fishing the margins with live baits and being mobile with the lures. Pike to 18lb have been caught. For those who like a little competition we have a pike match on the 5th of December. £20 entry fee which includes a bacon or egg roll and cup of tea. £200 prize fund based on 20 anglers.
